We managed a day of competitive driver assessments
Kuehn + Nagel is a global transportation and logistics company (try driving on the motorway without spotting a K+N lorry… you can’t!) with it’s people at the heart of what it does. It’s lorry drivers and warehouse forklift operators are a vital component of their organisation and thus see real value in taking care of their employees.
The Driver of the Year competition is a company-wide programme that provides recognition to deserving employees and cumulates with a Driver of the Year day for 100 of the most successful nominees.
The 2016 event, held at Donington Park in Derbyshire, began with an early start as we welcomed over 100 lorry and forklift drivers with breakfast rolls and hot drinks. They were then briefed on the day ahead, split into teams (complete with coloured-coded team caps!) and ushered to a series of activities, including lorry reverse parking and forklift hook a duck!
The event was a fantastic opportunity for K+N to acknowledge
some of their hard-working and dedicated employees
in an innovative and inspiring way.
After a busy day trying to secure as many points possible both individually and for their teams, guests were checked in to their hotel (Radisson Blu at East Midlands Airport) for a quick change before dinner.
Drinks and canapés followed, before assembling in one of the hotels banqueting suites for dinner and entertainment. As the drinks flowed, the winners of the day were announced, culminating in the coveted Driver of the Year at the end of the evening.
